Product Description

The Discover 4 Yourself Inductive Bible Studies for Kids teach children how to find out for themselves what the Bible is all about, and gives them fun and exciting ways to do it! In order to solve The Mystery of How to Study the Bible students must go through inductive detective training. Max, Molly, and their beagle Sam come along to help them examine the scene (context), interpret clues (who, what, when, where, why, & how), unscramble secret messages (memory verses), and use their walkie-talkies (prayer). Many important interpretive skills are covered, even using a concordance and expository dictionary. Recommended for ages 9 to 12.

How to Study Your Bible for Kids introduces the basics of inductive Bible study—observation, interpretation, and application—to children ages 9 to 12. As they learn about the people in the Bible, the way things were done in biblical times, the amazing miracles performed, and numerous terrific adventures found in the Bible, young people will discover that God’s Word speaks to them right where they’re at. They’ll come away from this study with a deeper understanding of God’s love and care for them.

I did not like the book, it is more like an english book. This book might be useful for a sunday school teacher but it is not a book your child (especilaly boys) would read on there own.

I bought this for my 10 1/2 year old grandson and we study it together. When I saw how deep it was I thought he might be bored, but he loves it. And I am learning too. I recommend this for kids either in group study or with a parent. It is a little too much to expect most children to do it alone.

I just started this study with our 8 year old son. He loves it. What a great way to get kids interested in reading God's Word for themselves. He especially likes the detective theme. The detectives in the book are named Max and Molly. At the end of each lesson, he gets a, M & M as a treat.

This series is excellent! I am using it with a 5th grader and a 1st grader in our homeschool. The Fifth grader loves it and is getting a lot out of it. The first grader is keeping up with us, but I would not use it if I were teaching him alone. Therefore, the age recommendation is a good one.

This book is written well and seems like it should appeal to children. However, my son does not like it. Bible has become one of his least favorite subjects. I think part of the problem is that some of the chapters are very long and some of the exercises they have the kids do can be very tedious even for me! I have decided to do the book with my son and "pick and choose" between activities. It still may work but our first few days have proven very disappointing. It may work better for older ages as my son is 9yrs.--the youngest they recommend.

We've only have one Sunday School class since I purchased the books so my knowledge is limited. However, I had a few students who were not finished with day one within the hour.

Excellent Bible study for my 7th grade homeschooled son. He did this independently every day w/ not a single complaint. We're getting the others in the series for 8th grade. It kept his attention and wasn't at all boring. Not too easy nor too difficult. Great resource!
