In What a Difference a Mom Makes, New York Times bestselling author Dr. Kevin Leman uses his wit and wisdom to show Mom how to lay the groundwork that will allow her son to grow into a good man. Armed with Dr. Leman's expert advice and insight, Mom will gain an understanding of her boy at every stage, from that very first diaper change to the moment he leaves for college. Dr. Leman shows how to discipline a boy, how to command respect, how to let him fight his own battles, how to understand his sexuality, and how to weather the changes in the mother-son relationship as he grows up. Most of all, Leman shows Mom how to lighten up and have some fun along the way with that boy who will always have her heart.

Dr. Kevin Leman Tells Why A Mom's Relationship with Her Son Matters Uniquely- And How to Make It Stronger At Every Age
For some moms, sons are confusing right from that first diaper change on. But by the time a mom makes it through the treasures a boy brings home in his pockets during grade school, the extra dirt her boy seems to find every time he goes outside, and the changes that puberty and driving privileges bring, she's sure of only one thing - she does not understand boys!
But if any of that tempts a mom to leave the big stuff to Dad, she's missing out on an amazing opportunity, says Dr. Kevin Leman. "Of all the people in the world, you, Mom, make the biggest difference in your son's world." Leman says "He'll never reveal it to you straight out, so I'll say it plainly. Your boy wants to please you. And that driving need will stay with him for a lifetime."
By recognizing the deepest desire of her son, a mom can speak into her son's life in ways that help him develop good relationships with other women, understand his own sexuality, fight his own battles, and command respect.
And along the way, it is possible, Leman believes, to learn some key coping skills for parenting your son and keeping a sense of humor along the way. True, moms may never understand why some things are funny to your son that are just disgusting to you, but you can still embrace the chance to leave an indelible imprint on your son's life with fun and grace.

I grew up without a mother and it has impacted my whole life. She died after the birth of my brother. I'm watching my daughter raise her twin boys (7). She's a single Christian mom now, as her husband left last year. She's reading her copy of the book along with me and we're both learning news things everyday. It's a great resource and I highly recommend it. It's so amazingly practical on so many levels. It's true mother's have a huge influence on their children and family life. Dr. Leman reinforces all the things that are worthwhile being a Christian mother.

After reading this book you will have a different opinion about how much influence a Mom can have on her son. I gave this book by Kevin Leman a 5/5 stars. I thought the book had some great advice and was very easy to understand. I liked how open the author was with his many personal examples. I especially liked how the writing helped the subject move from one subject to the next. The sections on discipline and understanding of how a males mind works were especially enlightening. This book is perfect for every mom with a son and I would recommend it as a perfect present. I even think it could be used as a study book for a Sunday School class. This is a must read book!
I would like to thank the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Leman for writing this book. I have a six year old son and 1 year old and have known that I wasn't doing something right with parenting my 6 year old son. As hard as I was trying to be my ways just weren't working. So for the last 1-2 years I have been seeking help like listening to moody radio and researching what books to read. Well as a busy mom I never had time for a book. But I had to get something. This book I bought in audible form. Thank you to all who made that possible. And I thank God for leading me to this one, it will change my relationship with my boys but most importantly their lives!
