The adult Sunday school I attended was studying So What’s the Difference? As I began reading the assigned chapters, I found it so interesting that I dove in to read more. It is both a historical and doctrinal introduction to many of the world’s most prominent religions. It outlines how they differ from Christianity without information overload. I never gave much thought to what Jehovah’s Witnesses and Mormons believe, but this book explained it to me concisely.

For those who wish to dig deeper, additional books are noted. This is a valuable tool for young-adult Christians because it helps us know where we stand, where others are coming from, and what they believe. You may know something of Islam. But do you know why some of its followers persecute Christians? You will understand what the reasons are only when you know what they believe. If you are witnessing Christ to a friend who is a Buddhist (or someone of another belief), this quick reference will better prepare you for your outreach, while building up your own armor.

My cousin recommended we watch an animated film based on a popular video game. Never having played the game, I did not understand what was going on. The film seemed to be making a weird religious statement. When I reached the Wicca and Gaia chapters of So What’s the Difference?, suddenly the movie made sense because I had gained some understanding of the worldview of its film writers! 256 pages, softcover from Regal.
