Amazing Curriculum Catering to Variety of Age Groups!
November 14, 2014
I was a little hesitant to start my first grader out on this curriculum, worried it would be too advanced, but I am so glad we made the purchase! If you have a young child who is eager to learn and loves science, this is a wonderful curriculum! This curriculum is designed to be used over a variety of age groups - the teacher's guide offers a guide for simple instruction for the younger elementary ages, and it builds all the way through middle school ages, with more challenging material, research and enrichment projects as the student gets older. This is something we can use over and over again as my children grow - great value to have a solid curriculum that can be used at different stages of learning! I will be purchasing the other sets!
We absolutely love this science curriculum. This is our second year having done the God's Design for Heaven and Earth kit last year. The lessons are split up in sections so different age groups can be taught together. There are great experiments or activities for nearly every lesson and the supplies needed are normally regular household items or things that are cheap and easy to find. The awe of God and his creation is brought out well in this curriculum and where there is different evolutionary beliefs it mentions those also and shows why creation fits. I haven't a single negative thing to say about this curriculum. I just wish they had more in depth curriculum for high school as well.
Love this science series. It includes a lot of information and is set up to be adapted for use with 1st - 8th graders, so it is perfect if you have multiple children in different grades. The most important thing is that it teaches science from a young earth perspective, and each lesson reinforces our children' s faith in the accuracy of the biblical record.
This has been one of the first curriculums that all of us agreed on. I got it because it teaches to all learning styles and it could be used with multiple grade levels. I had a 3rd, 5th, and 8th grader. It worked! It covered subjects thoroughly and in an interesting manner. The experiments were fun and it wasn't difficult to find the supplies. The true evidence of its worth occurs when my kids have used what they learned in their everyday lives. I heard my third grader say while pulling weeds one day. "That's a fibrous root." Hallelujah! She then went on to explain it to her little sister. We are using God's Design for the Heaven's & the Earth this year and look forward to getting started!
