Better then the first book... Alright, so I wrote an incredibly long review for the first book in this series, so I'll try to cut it short for this one... :) Deeanne Gist is one of my all time favorite authors, and in this book, she didn't disappoint! It was superbly written and researched and the whole story was wonderful! Deeanne really knows how to pace her stories, when to put the romance and where to add a little suspense. I'd highly recommend this book to all historical fiction fans, and although it would help to have read the first book, I don't think it would be completely necessary. This is a great love story, and it was certainly worth reading!!! April 12, 2013

So far I have enjoyed all of Deanna Gist books except this one. Kind of dissappointing. I am still though going to buy her books though. July 11, 2010
