The Robot Wars series is an updated version of the Mars Diaries series, and each book has two exciting adventures. In the first adventure, the Mars project is in trouble and only Tyce holds the key. In the second adventure, Tyce has discovered there may be killer aliens on the loose. Though he does not believe aliens exist, his discoveries may force him to rethink this view. Recommended for ages 10 to 14.

Sandy4 Stars Out Of 5pleasant surpriseMay 2, 2015SandyQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0though not usually into sci-fi I found myself liking this book and actually the unusual setting allowed for more freedom of plot and movement. while most books are bound by certain rules and restraints not to mention reality the sci-fi writer has more leverage because the constraints of imagination are looser. Still some strangeness and ideas that I wasn't sure about but intriguing none the less. A big thank you to the author for allowing several scenes to play out before the ending. I was left wanting more but not so frustrated that I was mad at the author.
jsrn184 Stars Out Of 5Living on Mars!August 24, 2014jsrn18Intriguing story about what the future could hold if people start living on Mars. Great book for anyone who likes sci-fi thrillers. Great for older kids as well as adults.

Tyce is the first child born on the Mars colony and he is writing journals while there so that others can hear about his experiences in case something happens to him and the rest of the colony. He is paralyzed from the waist down and since everyone on the Mars colony has to have a purpose his is to control a robot on Mars.
HomeSchool Mom of 4The Hot Dry DesertAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Really Cool, Totally Boyish FictionAugust 11, 2014HomeSchool Mom of 4The Hot Dry DesertAge: 25-34Gender: femaleI read this book in an effort to find something cool for my son to read when he's a little older. He's currently 7 and, while this would be a bit over his head, he's going to love this series in a couple years! The book gripped me from the start, as the story was being told from a robot's point of view. It was a great way to hook the reader! As the story slowly unfolded, the main character was an incredibly likable kid... flaws and all. I don't want to give away too much of the story, but if you've got a preteen son, I'm sure he'd enjoy this series! I have to say, I've seen some boys series that are just not cool enough (too sissified, to be precise)--we need more all-out boyish stuff like this!
Virginiaupstate NYAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5InterestingAugust 10, 2014Virginiaupstate NYAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Tyce lives with his mother on Mars in the year 2039, where he gets to move a robot using virtual reality. He has to solve mysteries and learn about faith.
I thought this was a good story about an experimental colony on Mars. It is divided into two journals (which were previously published separately) and is an interesting look at possible life on Mars.
