Through four Dearest Dorothy novels, Charlene Ann Baumbich has beguiled a growing legion of readers with the humorous and endearing denizens of Partonville, Illinois. Her latest heartwarming addition opens with everyone pitching in to help a local family rocked by tragedy. Meanwhile, Katie Durbin worries that her ambitious plan to revitalize Partonville's shopping district will crumble under the bullheaded doubts of a few townies-unless a Christmas miracle (and a few of Dearest Dorothy's prayers) can help her to win those stubborn folks over.
Charlene Ann Baumbich is the author of the previous three books in the Partonville series. A popular speaker, journalist, and author, for several years she has lectured to womens groups and retreats. Baumbich is also an award-winning journalist whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Todays Christian Woman, and numerous other publications. She is the author of six nonfiction books of humor and inspiration.

Sue Galucki4 Stars Out Of 5July 17, 2008Sue GaluckiGood, well-written story about grief...the grief of losing a popular citizen of Partonville, and the grief the townsfolk feel as Katie's mini-mall project might change their small town. Through it all, God's hand is in the comfort and the changes...after all, Dearest Dorothy is praying! Love is in the air, and two (or three?) new characters are added...will they return in future novels?
