SqwigglesCaliforniaAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Cliche Love Story, but Still GoodJune 4, 2014SqwigglesCaliforniaAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4The adjectives that pop into my mind when thinking about this book is cheesy and cliche. It reminded me of the typical romance novel, but the story was a little different. Beth and Garret fell in love so quickly it made me want to roll my eyes. They had only spoken a few words to each other and already they were in love. Also, like most typical historical romance novels, the three main characters were in danger in some way and it made the other character realize that they loved them. That's why I found that book cheesy and cliche. Normally a book like this I would only give 3 stars, but there was something about it that I actually liked. Although Garret annoyed me a bit with his attitude towards Beth, I liked both him and Beth. Bunny and Patsy reminded me of the two step sisters from Cinderella and they made they story more interesting. They helped add some humor to the book. If you are looking for a quick and easy read then I would recommend this book.
mseeebeeIn the woodsAge: Over 65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Enjoyed the book. Well written.October 12, 2012mseeebeeIn the woodsAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4The plot was well devised. The young lady was determined without being obstinate. Maybe just a bit too much of the overtones of the physical needs for a Christian work. But still a very good read and I had a hard time putting it down after I started reading.
Bryan, TXAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Great Summer Read!July 5, 2011Bryan, TXAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This was a great read for some easy summer reading. It hooks you from page 1. I agree with the reviewer who said the ending was alittle abrupt, but I think that was intentional to get the reader to go on to Book 2 of the series. Worked for me; Book 2 is now in my CBD cart for my next purchase.
Patricia Lacko5 Stars Out Of 5August 6, 2008Patricia LackoI really liked this book it drew you in from the first chapter. It was the discovery that Elizabeth went through to find out what she could do in which to support herself in a new land and what was true love. It also led me to read the other books in this series and they were just as ggod as this one. I would recommend this book to all.
