If CBD's review rating numbers would allow me, I'd give Last Days Madness 1000 stars! Like it or not, this book changes everything you thought you knew about end times. But it does even more. It literally has the potential to change the way you read the New Testament.

Since this is an update of my earlier review, I've decided to include what I said in that review: In 1989 I stood in the eschatology section of a Christian bookstore and prayed that God would show me a resource that would unravel the confusion my friends and I were experiencing concerning the last days. A few moments later my eyes fell on Last Days Madness, by Gary Demar. I pulled it off the shelf, and, Wow, what an unexpected shocker that turned out to be! One third of the way through the book I was convinced that most of what the majority of Christians believe about the end times is wrong! When I finished it, I was a convinced and unashamed partial preterist.

Several years later I was thrilled to discover one of my favorite theologians, R.C. Sproul, had become a partial preterist and so did the Bible Answer Man, Hank Hanegraaff.

Recently, I discovered that many well respected scholars and theologians have either been, or have recently become, partial preterists, including R.T. France, who articulates a partial preterist view of Matthew 24 and other eschatological passages in his highly acclaimed commentary on Matthew in the New International Commentary on the New Testament series.

Friends, I honestly believe if you read this book (even with a closed mind at first) you will come away with a new and refreshing perspective not only concerning the end times, but also concerning God's faithfulness. Last Days Madness will be an absolutely outstanding purchase!

This is a great book which not only emphasizes proper interpretation of prophecy but also the whole bible in general. He points out the double talk of dispensationalism that says "dispensationalism is literal" but when literalism doesn't work for their system they then magically spiritualize items to make it fit into their pet theories. One example would be about the words, "near", "very soon", and "at hand". Interpretational gymnastics are used to explain away the obvious literal definitions of those words. Why would they do that if they're such literalists, when the meanings of those words are obvious to anyone?! Wonderful book with clear, concise explanations. Highly recommended!

This book was very helpful in presenting the preterist point of view with regards to Matt 24 (and the synoptic parallels). The author gives a nice verse-by-verse exposition of the Olivet Discourse which I found most instructive and easy to understand. I would encourage anyone to get this book because it is very helpful and lucid in the sometimes confusing and overwhelming area of eschatology. God bless!

Very good research. I'm not sure what to believe anymore. I was disappointed that the author did not clearly state his position on end times.
