      Daughters of the Promise are the first Beth Wiseman books that I have read and I have been very pleased. The interaction between the Amish and "English" worlds has been very interesting. As I have finished one book I am anxious to continue reading about these complex characters. Although one book naturally leads into the next; each book stand alone telling a complete story. These are books that I will recommend to my friends.

      If you even think about buying the 1st book, go ahead and invest in as many as you can get in a bundle! Beth Wiseman is a great author! You get a great story along with strengthening your own faith while you read! I loved seeing how simple God intended our life and how complicated we make it in our busy day-to-day lives.

      I thoroughly enjoyed all four of these "Daughters of the Promise" series. I'm a huge fan of Beverley Lewis and I admit I have low expectations for all "Amish" stories except hers. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the writing and the interesting story line. I read all four of them straight through in one week!

      I love thw way the author keeps you in suspense. I enjoy reading Amish novels. My only hope is that the Amish may abandon the practice of shunning and heed the Lord's prayer regarding forgiveness.otherwise I think they are a remarkable people!!!

      Beth Wiseman's characters in her books are so "real", with problems unique to the Amish &"Englischer". Having grown up near Amish country I am familiar with their customs & Beth is right on track. A wonderful wholesome read I will recommend to anyone.
