Publisher's Description

A long time ago, women bent on exercising their wit and prowess in a kingdom not their own made treason and murder fair game. Marriage became manipulation, a means to an end. Children were the enemy. Author/Artist Review

Author: Ginger Garrett

Tell us a little about yourself.  I write at odd hours. This week it was from midnight until 4am. I do try to keep a set appointment during the day with my computer, though.

What was your motivation behind this project?  It is such a riveting story! It's an epic battle between good and evil, with women in the central roles. There are also many cultural themes that resonated: whether tolerance can ever really work, for example.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  This story is not well known, but critical to understanding our role as women in the Bible. The heroine in the story, as in the Biblical account, is a woman who risked her life to save Joash, the king who would be in Christ's lineage.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  I was deeply affected as a child by C.S. Lewis and James Herriott. C.S. Lewis taught me to hope, Herriott taught me to observe.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  Chosen: The Lost Diaries of Queen Esther, was recently nominated for the Christian Book Award. I hope you love Dark Hour, which does have a strong redeeming message.
