This is my first read by this author. I'm nearing the end of the book, but sneaked a peek toward the end (bad habit, I know). Bought this as a "damaged" book but aside from a line across the top, could see no outward imperfections. I did find some typos and situational mistakes however, as when Bill and Beth are referred to as Bill and Brenda. But the story is a page-turner. The problems I had with the storyline are that the "good guys" are a wealthy couple who adopted a child, who lie and scheme their way to keep him when the law doesn't appear to be working for them. The natural mother is seen as morally bereft. Granted, her husband is a lowlife, but I would like to have seen her get help for codependency. In my case, I chose my kids over my physically abusive ex, but his parents bought a pricy attorney to win custody. So in my case, money overruled morality. Even though the rich couple discover faith toward the end, I had trouble liking this book.
