Just as PrayerWalk gave readers a comprehensive overview of prayerwalking, Daily PrayerWalk explores in detail the important elements of a healthy prayer life. Whether the reader is a new or experienced prayerwalker, or one who simply wants to challenge and strengthen his or her prayer practice, Daily PrayerWalk provides both basic and in-depth insights, new ideas, and solid answers to questions about communication with God.
Readers can use this book as a thoughtful guide to a deeper prayer life or as a devotional for the days when they do prayerwalks. In both cases, this book of fifty prayer-related meditations will support and challenge them as they become men and women of prayer, strength, and discipline.
Joan Ferguson5 Stars Out Of 5January 2, 2009Joan FergusonThis is a powerful book. Janet presents prayer in a way that is easy to understand yet deep. You don't have to be a walker to enjoy this book. My sister-in-law, who is doing Chemo is reading it, She told me that she "prayer walks" the newspaper every morning.
Eva Marie Everson5 Stars Out Of 5July 3, 2002Eva Marie EversonShe's done it again! She's inspired the masses to walk AND pray! Janet Holm McHenry begins her book with a very important fact: you can expercise forever and be a toned size six, but if the inside is still out of shape, then you're only halfway there. Janet's book picks up where PrayerWalking left off...giving us 50 wonderful days of walking and talking with God.
Jeanne Zornes5 Stars Out Of 5June 12, 2002Jeanne ZornesThe cover photo for Daily Prayer Walk says it--that we walk alone in prayer into the unknown future that God knows about. If exercise and prayer have been challenges in your personal life, this volume will offer your encouragement and guidance. Transparent and soft-spoken, Daily Prayer Walk puts a contemporary flavor to Psalm 1's admonition that we "walk not in the counsel of the ungodly." Instead, McHenry shares the transforming ways prayer and walking have helped her walk in the counsel of the godly. The 50 days of short devotions, taken one a day will help readers join McHenry in this spiritual discipline. Showing sensitivity to crimes given national attention, she also provides safety counsel regarding walking alone at lonely times of the day.

Tell us a little about yourself. I'm an ordinary woman who serves an extraordinary God. I work full-time as a high school English teacher and run my kids around a lot to all their activities--just like most moms today. I am learning to "go from strength to strength" under God's daily apportioned grace (Psalm 84:7).
What was your motivation behind this project? I wrote the original book, PRAYERWALK, to help the reader develop a prayer discipline. I wrote DAILY PRAYERWALK to help the reader balance that prayer life with a daily practice of reading God's Word. We need both to stay grounded!
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I simply hope readers fall in love with conversing with our heavenly Father and with learning more about Him through His Word.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My One Heart friends keep me inspired and encouraged. One Heart is an online group of 16 Christian women writers, including popular writers Robin Jones Gunn, Anne deGraff, Joanna Weaver, Rebecca Janney, and Cindy Martinusen. We've been together for about five years now, communicating almost daily through a roundup of news and prayer requests organized by our "Captain," Tricia Goyer, a new novelist with Moody Press. We've gotten each other through many rough spots--infertility, infidelity/divorce, death of a spouse, our teens' rebellion. Some of us knew each other beforehand, but some still hope to meet face-to- face this side of heaven. Even so, we've become each other's dear friends.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Craig and I have been in love since our high school days at Elk Grove High in Elk Grove, CA. We have four great kids. Rebekah graduated from Biola University in 2001 and married Ozzie Perez the next month. She's now teaching jr. high English in the L.A. area, and she and Ozzie hope to plant a church in southern Mexico someday. Justin, 22, is a senior at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and works really hard with the U.S. Geological Survey. Joshua, 16, is a high school junior, will be in MY AP English class next year, and is not so happy about all the summer reading he has to do! Bethany, 10, is a well-rounded, bright girl; she plays basketball (dribbles and shoots left already!), studies piano and voice, and loves riding her horse, Dot.
