Daily Paragraph Editing is a supplemental workbook series designed to help students master and retain grade-appropriate editing skills. Daily worksheets are included; Monday-Thursday activities include individual paragraphs that include errors of capitalization, language usage, punctuation, spelling, and other common mistakes; on Friday, lessons consist of a writing prompt that provides students with an opportunity to write and apply the skills they've learned.
Students refer to a reproducible sheet of proofreading marks and a language handbook that outlines usage and mechanics rules. Instead of the answer key being at the back of the book, this workbook is organized with the teacher's answer-page with edited answers (overlaid on a full-size reproduction of the student page with "error summary" list) facing the student page; the student page is designed to be reproduced and distributed. 36 weeks. 176 reproducible pages, softcover. Grade 2. Correlated to State and Common Core State Standards.

marieg5 Stars Out Of 5writingJuly 14, 2016mariegQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I like this book a lot. It is nice to see something that is simple to use and gets children to understand how you need to correct writing and that it doesn't have to be painful. It takes about 5 minutes a day to do, probably 10 or 15 for a full class. Each paragraph is about 45 or 50 words long and they focus on a specific skill you can talk to your child about first. The child gets to be the teacher and make the corrections. As a former elementary school teacher, writing was difficult to teach for a whole class. I wanted to spend more time with each child. This book is great for a teacher, home school parent or a child that attends elementary school. My children attend elementary school and I use it at home in the morning before they go to school.
Monday through Thursday is when they correct the paragraphs, on Friday have a prompt to write about instead.
The only drawback is they have the answer key across from the paragraph you are correcting. So, you have to rip each page out as you use it.
I bought a grade 3 book for my other child.
