"I just wanted to thank you for creating these Daily Focus devotionals. They have been a wonderful encouragement to me. They make me smile, they make me cry, and they lift me up. As a homeschool mom, I often feel like no one else really understands some of the feelings I have and issues I wrestle with, so I really appreciate the way these devotionals take common issues and struggles and relate them to Scripture. The seasoned advice and experience of the author is soothing and calming to my soul. Thank you for reminding me that the Lord is in control and knows in advance what we need!"
-Debbie A., WI
"Thank you for these devotionals. In the past month, I have been encouraged and reminded of why I homeschool. They seem to have come to me at just the right time. I know God is using them in my life. Thank you so much. Continue with the good work you are doing in the lives of homeschoolers."
-Rindy O., OH
"Thank you for the wonderful advice in each daily devotional. Each time I read one, it teaches me something about myself. I am a Christian who homeschools our 10-year-old daughter, and it is a blessing to hear that others are facing the same difficulties we do. I was not raised in a Christian home, and the teachings you give me help me learn how a Christian parent should raise her children to grow into loving adults. Thanks again for all the encouragement and biblical references to study!"
-Mechelle B., IN
"I want to tell you how much I appreciate the encouraging words I receive from the Daily Focus devotionals. I can't tell you how often the author has been "right on" with situations I'm dealing with in my own homeschool. I struggle daily with juggling teaching, family, and work, and the Daily Focus helps me keep a healthy perspective on why we homeschool and how important it is to lay it all down at the Master's feet every day. Thank you, thank you, and may God bless you abundantly."
-Beverley G., TX
"Thank you for your devotionals. I am always grateful for the insight and wisdom of each one. The Lord has used these many times to remind me of who He is and why I do what I do, and not just in the homeschooling arena. They are like water to a thirsty soul. "
-Susan M., IL
"I am so grateful for the encouraging devotions in the Daily Focus. The topics speak to my heart on family issues, then turn right to a Scripture that turns my heart away from my difficult circumstances and back where it belongs on our Sovereign Lord. Thank you for the valuable service you provide."
-Kathleen E., CA
"Thank you for these Daily Focus devotionals. These are just so wonderful to me and so timely. Each day is just what I need. I especially enjoyed the devotional about the mother leading her children to the Lord. Soul winning is the greatest part of the Christian life and not many people use that term, but it is definitely something we need to pass down to the next generation. Thank you so much for investing in our homeschooling hearts!"
-Lisa B., CA
"I love these devotionals! They aren't just warm fuzzies, but they are really convicting like truth should be."

I read it every morning. I have learned from the stories of another home school Moms. Most importantly, reading the Daily Focus has so often put things in perspective for me, and directed my attention once again to what is really important in homeschooling, that is bringing up our children as unto the Lord. I would love to purchase this item for all my home school friends, and whole heartedly recommend it to every home school Mom, but especially those who are isolated from HS support groups.

Tell us a little about yourself. Born in Northwest Iowa, I was raised on a country farm, the youngest of seven children. Attending public school, I graduated from high school with honors in 1973. One year later, I earned a secretarial diploma from a local community college and worked as an administrative assistant and an accountant. In 1976, I married my high school sweetheart and later had four children. Answering Gods call, I began homeschooling in the early 1980s and taught all my children from preschool through high school. During my homeschooling years, I often found encouragement in my favorite Bible verses: Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. (Hebrews 12:1-2) Now a veteran home school mom with over 25 years experience, I am proud that three (soon to be four) of my children have received post-secondary degrees from a university or college. The occupations of my four grown children are a registered nurse, an archaeologist, a technical writer, and an aspiring missionary attending Bible college.
What was your motivation behind this project? I wanted to give other homeschooling parents the encouragement I rarely received when homeschooling my children.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? My prayer is that homeschooling parents will be motivated to keep teaching their children academics from a godly perspective.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? As I remembered and wrote the stories of our homeschooling years, I again found myself amazed at God's faithfulness. How precious to be called His child and to daily walk in His truths.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Several Christian leaders have personally impacted my life, including Dr. Charles Stanley, Dr. James Dobson, Dr. David Jeremiah, Chuck Swindoll, John McArthur, and Billy Graham.
