The review by Judy exemplifies why it is so necessary for people to read this book alongside all the pro-Zionist material they digest. The conflict is complex and the solution must necessarily be more complex than "Israel belongs to the Jews" as well. I know One Jew, moreover, who would place a higher premium on loving one's neighbor as oneself than on historical claims to ownership of the land: a commitment to THAT biblical position would go a long way to solving the crisis of the displaced Palestinians. The Ruethers write from long-time involvement in the plight of Palestinians and a passionate commitment to justice and merit an attentive hearing.

This book is one-sided and condemns the Jewish people, instead of taking the Biblical stance of Israel belonging to the Jews. Even though this book is only a quarter, save your support for a book worth reading!
