In this profound message from one of the great thinkers of our generation, Zacharias explores the inner feeling of futility that can overwhelm a human heart and helps us to see a reason for our suffering, be comforted in loneliness, and experience an abiding faith in our daily lives. Cries of the Heart is a book that both inspires and reassures a search that uncovers our hidden sentiments and reveals God's continual inescapable presence in every moment of our lives.

Ravi Zacharias gently and eloquently hands us the answer cards. His high level use of speech can cause alliteration snags for the less than studied reader, but I believe he wants us to soak in the material and not breeze through it. So read on and find where God has been resting; waiting for you to call upon His name!

Dawn4 Stars Out Of 5November 30, 2007DawnSome might read this book for its deep philosophical and theological truths, but when I read this book I was looking for God to speak to me about a certain situation in my life. I was not disappointed. My favorite chapter was "The Cry to Feel My Faith". Zacharias challenges the reader to ask themselves what emotional trappings, prejudices, insecurities, and indiscipline have you brought to your relationship with God? He goes into great depth to answer this question, but to put it very simply Zacharias says at the end of the chapter, "Bring your feelings to the cross. Entrust them into his care, and he will guard them for you." I would recommend this book to anyone going through a time of suffering, or if you just have some basic questions about your relationship with God. Be prepared, however, to spend a little extra time reading this book it is deep!
Jan Heaton5 Stars Out Of 5November 22, 2007Jan HeatonThis book will not disappoint the heart and soul that is seeking to understand the deep and difficult ways of God. There is no clear answer to why there is so much suffering and pain in life. I don't believe anyone has the answer to that, but the Lord Himself. Ravi Zachariah has put into words and stories a multitude of thought provoking ideas that help us better understand God and to bring us closer to realizing that God is God. His ways are higher than are ways. But also God's ways are all about Love for us.
