Well written and researched by author. Great historical information on the perspective of creation and its link to nations and prophecy on the last days. Unlike other books which has a lot of speculation, the author managed to be as close to scripture's account on these end days prophecy without going overboard. January 23, 2012

Respectful tone, w/o "I have all the answers" tone I've had the chance to read Creation and the Second Coming by Henry Morris here recently, and this is a unique book. End Times prophecy, of course, you can find all over the place. Creation resources are pretty common now too. But combining the two? End Times prophecy in light of the Creation account? I'm sure I've not seen that before. This book was a nice change of pace for me aesthetically -- a normal-sized font with some actual white space on the page. That made for a pleasant reading experience. I'll start off with my biggest "issue" with the book... that being that it was written in 1991, which was a bit jarring in all the talk about "current events" in the Middle East. Had I realized what "current" meant before I started reading, things would have gone a lot more smoothly. One thing I really appreciated about this book was that I never really felt that Dr. Morris was telling me that he had it all figured out and this is exactly the way it is. The tone was more of a friendly (yet serious) chat where Dr. Morris is laying out his studied and educated guess as to how various prophecies are being fulfilled (or are going to be fulfilled), along with carefully explaining why he believes that. On many of the issues (like who is the Antichrist) he talks about what the church has believed over the centuries, without belittling those beliefs. In fact, when speaking of Nero being thought to be the Antichrist, his parenthetical statement is "naturally enough." I don't know, it just felt like he respected the early church, even though their interpretation of that particular prophecy has clearly been demonstrated to have been erroneous. Respectful. And open to the idea that later on, biblical scholars could be pointing out where he missed the mark. That sums up the overall tone of this work. I'm glad I've had the opportunity to read this book. Shows how the end-time is connected to Creation Creation and the Second Coming is unique among both Creation and Prophecy genreÃ¢ÂÂs in that it shows how the two are intertwined. Morris shows from Scripture that in order to understand the end-times you must understand the beginning. Morris covers topics such as evolution, Darwinism, slavery, apostasy, occultism, and even science and technology, and shows how they correspond to the end-time events. Morris also steps through the end-time events such as Gog and Magog, Israel becoming a nation, Babylon, the seven-year tribulation, DanielÃ¢ÂÂs 70th week, the two witnesses, the image of the beast, the woman in the wilderness, the anti-christ, the millennium, the final judgment, and more, and shows how this war of SatanÃ¢ÂÂs began at the beginning. This is primarily a book on prophecy, but instead of only focusing on the end-times Morris shows events in history, such as the trouble in the Middle East, and how they all tie together with end-time events. Morris shows how the signs that are given in Scripture of the second coming directly stem from humanism. Morris even explains why we canÃ¢ÂÂt know the time of the rapture. This book is a fascinating look into end-time events. I was especially interested in the points about science. This book is much needed because it not only covers the Ã¢ÂÂhowÃ¢ÂÂ of the end-time, but also covers the Ã¢ÂÂwhyÃ¢ÂÂ. Without the Ã¢ÂÂwhyÃ¢ÂÂ, the purpose of the tribulation and second coming loses its impact. I highly recommend Creation and the Second Coming by Henry Morris. Worth It This book didn't deal as much with Creation as I thought it would. He did incorporate a lot of end-time material in the first few chapters which was great reading, but it wasn't what I was looking for. The real prize was the last two chapters; they really hit home, especially the chapter incorporating science, Creation, and the Millennial Reign of Christ. He showed how Creation and the Millennial Reign resemble each other in simple yet grand fashion. Overall, I would recommend this book. March 23, 2011
