C.L. Hanna5 Stars Out Of 5August 13, 2007C.L. HannaArleen Jennings has the ability to speak deeply into the heart, grabbing a person's creative spirit, pulling it gently to the surface where it can catch it's breath and be revived! This book will encourage the reader to actively participate in the arts as the author explains the necessity of being who we were created to be. Full of colorful, persuasive examples of how to satisfy artistic passions, Arleen has included many ideas for incorporating the arts into our everyday lives, as well as those intimate times of worship. From time to time, we all feel the need to express ourselves. But expressing love for God and others is the real reason art exists, and why we are always seeking new, creative ways to convey those feelings. Created to Be Creative reminds us all that we are created by The Creator, in the image of The Creator, making us creative beings who are generally more happy whenever we are busy creating. That is inspiring!
Dave & Jenni Piatt4 Stars Out Of 5August 1, 2007Dave & Jenni PiattArleen has done a great job to encourage us to just get started being creative. We have found this book to be highly theological, but not over our heads. This book is very biblical in it's approach to life and art.
Tabitha5 Stars Out Of 5January 1, 2007TabithaI think everyone should read this book! It's so eye opening!!! I'm the kind of person who has already embraced my creativity, but Arleen addresses so many of the confusions and frustrations that one runs into during the creative process. I love that she relates our creativity to God's creativity.
Traci Porter5 Stars Out Of 5December 30, 2006Traci PorterCreated to Be Creative is a valuable book for both people with undeveloped creative talents and those who are accomplished artists. Arleen presents the idea that God gives each of us the ability to create, just as He is creative, and we can all benefit by developing these talents. She supports her ideas with true stories, personal experience and most importantly scripture. The book touched me by reminding me that creativity is not simply a "hobby" or something that people do for fun. It is an important gift that the Lord gives to people and just like all of the other blessings of the Lord, it is given for a purpose. The book is well written and it is obvious that it is the desire of the author's heart to help others find fulfillment through creative outlets. It is an inspiring read for both Christians and non-Christians alike.

Tell us a little about yourself. I am an artist who enjoys drawing, painting, and quilting. My husband, Ron, and I are very active in our local church where we have been on the leadership team for over twenty years. We live in Angelica, New York, and have five children, all of whom I home-schooled through the third grade. With our youngest two in high school, I now dedicate my time to writing and the arts, along with church activities and public speaking engagements.
What was your motivation behind this project? I have two passions, the Word of God and using my creative abilities. In Created to be Creative, I have combined my knowledge of both and written a motivational book on the importance of creativity and how using our talents will help us fulfill the purpose of God within our sphere of influence.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? It is human nature to seek for purpose and fulfillment beyond the mundane. In Created to be Creative, I will lead you through the process of finding and using your God-given talents. I will encourage you to discover the personal benefits of employing creative outlets and the advantage of utilizing them to help you through tough times. I will also inspire you to use your abilities as tools to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? The Bible has been my greatest source of inspiration and my commitment to my local church has given me a sure foundation in my walk with the Lord and in my ability to write Created to be Creative for the glory of God. My favorite artist's are Casting Crowns and Margaret Becker
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: You do not have to be an artist to gain from this book; it is as much about life as it is about the arts. Please visit my website at www.arleenjennings.com
