The God of the universe is crazy about you! His love is the most powerful thing in the world and He wants to give it to you, so you can live for Him. If you have made a commitment to follow Christ, then read Crazy Love to be reminded and challenged in your walk. Sharing from his own life struggles and sacrifices, author Francis Chan issues a call for selfless, Christ-like living. Let the love you have received from God impact your life like never before.
Have you ever wondered if we're missing it?
It's crazy, if you think about it. The God of the universethe Creator of nitrogen and pine needles, galaxies and E-minorloves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrifi cing love. And what is our typical response? We go to church, sing songs, and try not to cuss.
Whether you've verbalized it yet or not.we all know something's wrong.
Does something deep inside your heart long to break free from the status quo? Are you hungry for an authentic faith that addresses the problems of our world with tangible, even radical, solutions? God is calling you to a passionate love relationship with Himself. Because the answer to religious complacency isn't working harder at a list of do's and don'ts-it's falling in love with God. And once you encounter His love, as Francis describes it, you will never be the same.
Because when you're wildly in love with someone, it changes everything.

Chan, senior pastor of Cornerstone Church in Simi Valley, Calif., offers a radical call for evangelicals to consider and emulate in this debut guide to living "crazy" for God. Chan's own life compels him to live with urgency, and with good reason. His mother died giving birth to him, his stepmother died when he was nine, and his dad when he was 12. As a pastor, Chan says that conducting weekly funerals for people younger than himself has likewise sobered him to life's unexpectedness and frailty. Chan writes with infectious exuberance, challenging Christians to take the Bible seriously. He describes at length the sorry state of "lukewarm" Christians who strive for a life characterized by control, safety and an absence of suffering. In stark contrast, the book offers real-life accounts of believers who have given all-time, money, health, even their lives-in obedience to Christ's call.Chan also recounts his own attempts to live "crazy" by significantly downsizing his home and giving away his resources to the poor.Earnest Christians will find valuable take-home lessons from Chan's excellent book. An amazing book! Will deepen and expand your view of God and His love for you! I don't think any Christian can read this book and not be challenged to live your life for Christ alone!

We are using this book for our Sunday School
class study at this time. A wonderful companion for introduction to set the stage is the DVD by Louie Giglio: The Indescribable
We are now in our second week and we have rich discussion and proper prospective for life application.

(only the Bible gets a '5')... we are supposed to 'test everything' against God's Holy Word and this book stands the test - one of the very FEW who are teaching the TRUTH of what it means to follow JESUS, and YES, Jesus MUST be Lord ! ("IF you love Me you WILL OBEY My commands") - no popular 'ear tickling' watered-down message here... for those with ears to hear. Remember... MANY will say to Him on that day, 'Lord Lord' and He WILL say (to MANY) I never knew you. Do not listen to the liars who are preaching otherwise.

The book started out fine about the greatness of God, but it quickly morphed into a diatribe of caustic Lordship Salvation teaching.
The rest of the book was very judgmental---only the "on-fire" Christians will make it to heaven. All of the average churchgoers called "lukewarm" go guess where???

It is really discouraging that Christians and Christian booksellers are promoting this book. People I know have been passing this book out to new believers and they are having their view of Jesus Christ altered because of lack of discernment. Many of these people have read a tiny bit of the Bible, but they have read this entire book and hung on every word as if it is truth. God's Word is very clear that many will follow lies and fall away.
