Covenant and Eschatology is a significant proposal for theological prolegomena. Horton labors to demonstrate the importance of a robust conception of redemption history for properly engaging the discipline of Christian theology. At the heart of the book is a fresh construal of how God acts and speaks on the stage of world history, but along the way Horton offers penetrating analysis of developments in modern theology. Among other things, I appreciate his thoughts on the relationship between redemption and revelation, the nature of theological language, and the hermeneutical enterprise. Anyone interested in theological method and/or trends in modern theology would do well to get their hands on this book!
