SMART GUIDE TO THE BIBLE 1st AND 2nd CORINTHIANS

In doing a bible study of First Corinthians I collected a few commentaries but I found that this one was the one that I found to be the most useful. This commentary is not like most commentaries. It is a commentary lay people. Somewhere down the line, people have bought into the idea that the bigger words and the more complex the sentences there are the better the book. I find that this is not always the case.

This commentary is an easy read but with a overwhelming amount of information. Each chapter begins with a chapter overview and a history of the chapters to be covered. It then moves into what scripture verses that will be covered in that particular chapter. On the side of each page there are cross reference scripture, things to ponder and key points all of which are helpful and thought provoking. At the end of each chapter is a wrap up with study questions.

This is not commentary that just provides information, it is an interactive book for the reader.

I love this commentary series, I am just so disappointed that the publisher chose not to finish it.

I would encourage anyone to check out this commentary. I don't think you will be disappointed.

One of the best study books I have used in teaching adult Sunday School. Clear, informative and with a touch of humor.
