Readers head back to Kanner Lake, Idaho, approximately one month after the events of the first book in the series, Violet Dawn, have taken place.
Leslie Brymes, a young reporter for the Kanner Lake Times, has started receiving presents. She has no idea who they are from and really, really doesn't want any more. The presents are murdered residents of Kanner Lake. Leslie has no idea why she is receiving these presents, but she is a reporter and she is going to find the murderer. She, along with some other townsfolk, has also been experiencing a sense of evil that is very real. Is it possible that a ghost is killing these people? Her roommate, Paige, who is the main character in the first book of the series, feels like she is a magnet for death and has drawn evil to the town. Is there really something supernatural at work in Kanner Lake?
Vince Edwards is the chief of police and is now stretched to his limit. His five-man force is too small to investigate the multiple murders taking place in his small town. His men are working around the clock to protect citizens, collect evidence, question people and solve multiple murders. He doesn't know how much more he can take, worrying about who will be next. He also has felt an evil presence that unsettles him to say the least. Who or what is killing these innocent women? Is the killing related to the new hotel project being proposed?
This is an absolutely riveting story. Be warned_once you start, you won't be able to put the book down. The chapters are only about 3-4 pages, so readers can quickly flip through to keep the action moving and keep up with the quick-paced plot. I enjoyed the continuation of characters from the first book and hope they will show up in book three of the series, Crimson Eve. The suspense is palpable and the tension runs high throughout the book. The realm of darkness in the supernatural world is shown to be a force to be reckoned with and not something make believe. As some of the characters discover, the power of Jesus is stronger than anything. That is something we all need to remember.
rose mccauley5 Stars Out Of 5Coral Moon by Brandilyn CollinsMarch 16, 2013rose mccauleyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5If you want to catch up on Paige Williams and Leslie Brymes and all the other characters in Kanner Lake, I suggest you take another trip to this beautiful area. As you get into town, stop by Bailey's Java Joint for a double shot of expresso to fortify you for the journey through more murders and mayhem with some spooky stuff thrown in, too.
But, know that with Brandilyn Collins's writing, not only will you be frightened out of your wits, but you will also leave the place at peace, knowing that as one character says, "Jesus is stronger than any demons." And that's a good place to be!
Hey! I think I just talked myself into visiting Kanner Lake again by reading Crimson Eve and Amber Moon. See you all there!

I thouroughly enjoyed it and had a hard time putting it down. Brandilynn kept me guessing all the way to the end! Yes, this book does deal with demons, ghosts and seances, but I appreciate the biblical way she explains these through her pastor character. I thought the first book in the series, Violet Dawn, was pretty good, but this one knocked my socks off! I'm already halfway through the third one...
Sandy Hess1 Stars Out Of 5September 11, 2009Sandy HessI agree with some of the other customer ratings. This should not be listed as a "Christian" novel. I think I will be a lot more careful about purchasing Christian novels through this company. Who edits your books?
Zac2 Stars Out Of 5June 29, 2009ZacLike the book before, it was a great page turner, wondering how everything would work togeather in the end. However, as a Christian novel, I was very dissapointed that the plot stood much on seances, speaking to the dead, ghosts, etc. It's not in the Christian belief at all, and I'm not really impressed that Collins used that practically as a foundation for the novel.
