Step out of the shadows of self-doubt to live with a confident heart! Ever feel like you're not good enough, smart enough, or valuable enough? Renee Swope understands. Even with a great family, a successful career, and a thriving ministry, she still struggled with self-doubt. Sharing her own personal story, Renee shows you how to rely on the power of God's promises to find the security you need and the confidence you long for!
Often the biggest obstacle to living out our faith is our own doubt--about our worth, our abilities, our relationship with God, and situations in our lives. A Confident Heart gives voice to the questions, doubts, struggles, and hopes so many women have. Author Renee Swope shows women how to identify, overcome, and even use doubt in order to live confidently in God's power, truth, and grace. Perfect for women's small groups or individuals, A Confident Heart is an authentic, insight-filled and encouraging message for any woman who wants to exchange destructive thought patterns with biblical truth that will transform the way she thinks, feels, and lives.
Renee Swope's A Confident Heart is an encouraging book that inspires women to have confidence in the Lord. Swope combats the many negative thoughts that easily slip into our thinking, such as "Im not good enough," "I'm such a failure," or "There's nothing special about me." Through this book, readers can actively believe in Gods secure promises.
Swope addresses several areas of doubt and confidence. She also covers Gods perfecting love that provides healing grace for our painful past. Swope's style is personable, addressing the reader directly. She brings in many of her life circumstances, letting the reader see little bits of her story. Her views on Scripture make for enjoyable reading as well. When talking about the story of Jesus and the woman at the well, she carefully examines all aspects of the narrative. She brings to light several facts that readers perhaps never noticed.
At the end of every chapter there is a prayer that reflects passages of Scripture, along with several discussion questions. At the end of the book, there is a helpful chart of Gods biblical promises and how they apply to our lives. Swope, a Proverbs 31 Ministries member, had struggles with confidence and doubt even after she became a Christian. Her story is touching and shows women in similar predicaments that they are not alone.
The main point to this book is how to live without doubting God's grace and promises. I found myself enjoying every chapter and each story. A Confident Heart effectively gives courage and hope to its readers in a gentle, victorious way. Swope's personal anecdotes bring realism into her book. There were a few stretches of drier material, but they were still important. I particularly recommend this book for middle-aged women who need a kind word of encouragement and confidence.
