Jason Orr5 Stars Out Of 5January 28, 2008Jason OrrGreat book that shares the history and hard times of the church that I call home. Clearly centered on Jesus, Marks does a great job articulating the challenges faced at each step along the way. As a member of Mars Hill this also shows that Jesus is drivin' the boat with a great crew at the helm. Thanks Mark. In Christ...
Paul van Gaalen5 Stars Out Of 5January 5, 2008Paul van GaalenGreat resource for any church planter, Mark's journey clearly highlights the good and bad in church planting. Some good lessons can be learned from this book, in particular the preaching of the Word while planting a culturally significant church.
Brad5 Stars Out Of 5September 27, 2007BradTo be honest, I was surprised at the conviction to primarily hold to biblical doctrine through the life of Mars Hill Church. This is a very easy read, as Pastor Driscoll writes in a very genuine and conversational manner. This chronicles the struggles and successes of a church plant in Seattle and how God used all of those circumstances. Through this journey, critical decisions are made and can benefit any pastor/ elder or lay person with a passion to reach their community for the Gospel of Christ.Definitely recommended regardless of your agreement/ disagreement with Driscoll's methodology.
worship.com5 Stars Out Of 5June 8, 2006worship.comThis book is highly recommended and should be read by every pastor, elder, and worship leader. Those who have a desire to reach an increasingly post-modern culture without compromising doctrine will be encouraged to know they are not alone in either their struggles or their passion to reach the world for Jesus.
