I didn't like this for preschool-1st grade level. I also don't like the writing part because I'm teaching cursive first and this is all in print. I prefer for the vocab to be introduced with the masculine el or feminine la so that they get the idea that there are masculine and feminine words and have that in their head right away. It was not taught that way in this book. It was just "camisa," "perro," etc.

I've decided to take a different approach. There are a lot of things you can find for free for teaching kids Spanish. Keep that in mind. I didn't find any workbooks that I liked for kid Spanish.

I purchased this for the following school year for my child. I looked it over. I think it just might work for us. I think there should be a pronunciation CD to accompany this for those who have not taken Spanish to help with teaching their children. We'll see how this works for us when we start up again at the beginning of Aug 2013.

As a former high school Spanish teacher, I was thrilled to find this resource for my own children. Here are the features I find most helpful:

      - Comprehensive, yet focuses on just one topic at a time

      - Cross-curricular connections that reinforce all learning

      - Versatile in that it can be used for multiple ages, readers, and non-readers

      - Contains references, answer key, and extras making it helpful for those with no Spanish background.

We have been using it to supplement a free online kids' video Spanish program, but it would work equally well by itself.

Great for preschoolers as a beginner Spanish. I like the word and handwriting practice as well as the colorful presentation of the book.

I was so excited to find a Spanish curriculum that I did not have to spend a fortune on! My son is in 1st grade this year and I can't wait to use it with him!
