If you want to understand Revelation, but are intimidated by words like: exegesis, Septuagint, or even apocalyptic, then please consider this book. Authors Campbell and Bell respectively lay out Revelation, chapter by chapter, then present a brilliant summation of the different interpretations and philosophies regarding the book. While they clearly are writing to a larger audience than Christians, they humbly remain true to the word, i.e., So John reported what he saw and heard, and we have tried (to this point) to stick close to what John reported. p. 182. While learning, (and substitute teaching) in a study on Revelation, I started with this book for a framework. Only then did I move to the heavy weight, Baker Exegetical Commentary on the New Testament: Revelation. The class was very well received. Peace.
