I recall reading the original version of this little publication years ago and thought that I was ordering the same thing. Unfortunately Moody Press has revised it and it does not appear to be as clear-cut or definitive as the original I can recall from forty years or so ago. Also I don't like the fact that the new version uses the dynamic equivalence-based NIV Bible. Sounds too close to a paraphrase. I wish Moody had kept the original edition in print.
In an accordian style pamphlet, it explains the view of our Christian God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit against nine other religions. It also compares the Christian concepts of sin, redemption, salvation, and afterlife with those same relgions. It's easily understood and makes a quick and easy refernce source. I much prefer this rather than plodding through a book to extract the basic info about the differences.
I love this pamphlet. I have used the earlier edition "The Spirit of Truth and The Spirit of Error" in my high school Sunday School class. I love how it is broken down into the basic tenents of Christianity and each cult. It makes for a very easy ready reference. I'm now using this as a supplement in a women's bible study on the book of Colossians to help demonstrate the dangers of false teachers. It's been an excellent resource for me and my students.
