The Professional Life.
In the simplest of meanings, it is the part of your day or week or year or entire life that you spend working to make a living. Everyone knows that the way you spend those hours of your day can very easily carry over into every other aspect of your life.
Do you know someone lucky enough to love what they do to support themselves? That happiness, pride, and satisfaction doesnt just stop when they leave the office. It finds its way into their personal relationships and into their community activities. Loving your work is the biggest bonus you can give yourself.
Classic Wisdom for the Professional Life has words of wisdom from some of the worlds preeminent business, political, and cultural leaders. Paying heed to one or one hundred of these quotes that really speaks to you can make a difference not only in the way you earn a paycheck now, but also in how you forge a career path for yourself.
Be one of the lucky few who knows that a happy professional life is one huge part of really living the good life

Jordan Wright4 Stars Out Of 5June 11, 2010Jordan WrightI found this book to be very interesting, and full of good thoughts. A compilation of quotes successful professionals, Classic Wisdom includes some of the greatest, such as Warren Buffet. However, quite a bit of the book was either redundant or rubish. I'm not sure this book could really be called Christian. That's not to say that the book is bad, but when I read a book from Thomas Nelson I generally expect a Christian worldview. That's not exactly what you'll find in this book. And in fact, many of the professionals quoted in this book appear to disagree. For example, success and prosperity are sometimes equated, and sometimes separated. So, while I found the book to be very encouraging and very useful for my purposes, actual professionals may have a bit of difficulty with the book. And so, I cannot highly recommend this book. But I'm not saying you shouldn't buy it, either. Just take it with a grain of salt, for flavor. It is a collection of insightful quotes on life and business. You'll find useful quotes from people like Babe Ruth, Bill Gates, and various other famous folks. The book is really meant to be given as a gift and would be ideal for a college graduate just entering into the business world. When I first choose this book I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. After all, reading a book filled with quotes doesn't sound too exciting. However, I quickly discovered a hidden jewel in the pages of this little book. If you're looking for a gripping tale then this is not the option for you. But, if you need a little inspiration, or some good quips for a Powerpoint presentation, then Classic Wisdom is an excellent choice. One of my favorite quotes is the last one in the book."Be different, stand out, and work your butt off." ~~ Reba McEntireDisclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from Thomas Nelson Publishers as part of their BookSneeze.com book review bloggers program.
