Does Your Church Have a Prayer is an innovative, comprehensive, and spiritually rich approach to developing a transformational strategic ministry plan for your congregation. It combines Bible study, preaching, prayer, planning, and discernment during a six-week experience that helps church leaders live their way into transformation. Lovett H. Weems, Jr., Distinguished Professor of Church Leadership, Wesley Theological Seminary, and Director, Lewis Center for Church Leadership "In a time of deep cultural ferment congregations need to have better conversations focused on mission, purpose, and possibility rather than membership, maintenance, and survival. Leaders need tools and resources to shape and structure these discerning conversations. Marc, Kathy, and John provide a resource rich pathway for leaders to pursue with their people. Thankfully it is not a program since we don't all need to take the same trip. Thankfully they do not offer answers since it is not problems that we face but opportunity. Thankfully they do offer a six week process of spiritual engagement with plenty of resources and structure to sustain the conversation seeking to discern faithfulness." Gil Rendle served as senior pastor of two urban congregations in Pennsylvania for sixteen years and as a denominational consultant for the United Methodist Church for nine years. Gil has an extensive background in organizational development, group and systems theory, and leadership development. He has worked with congregations, national and regional denominational bodies, schools, and nonprofits. He has authored fours books, contributed to two others books, and published numerous articles.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Implementing the learning's from this book will take a congregation where it has never been before. It will move a local Church beyond generalities about vision and mission. If the steps that are outlined in this book are followed, a congregation of Believers will be helped to develop a transformational and strategic ministry plan which is deeply rooted in the soil of biblical principles.
