Author BioMARK DRISCOLL is the founding pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle, one of the fastest-growing churches in America. He leads the Acts 29 Church Planting Network and the Resurgence Missional Theology Cooperative. The Church Report has recognized him as the eighth most influential pastor in America. He is the author of several books, including Crossway's Vintage Jesus. ChristianBookPreviewsMark Driscoll, pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle, Washington, has put together a unique series of books. This series is called A Book Youll Actually Read. The intention of this series is obviously in the title. Driscolls hope is to put a summary of each of these topics into a readable and digestible form in order for the reader to complete the book in one sitting (an hour?).
In his book On Church Leadership, Driscoll focuses on such church leadership areas as Pastor Jesus, Elders, Deacons, Members, Women in ministry, leadership teams and then follows these sections with answers to common questions, recommended reading and a sample church covenant. In the final book in the series (or 1st book, depending on your perspective), On Who is God?, Driscoll gives a succinct summary of Theology Proper (the doctrines of God). He covers such important issues as knowledge about God, the nature of God, the incarnation of God and more. Again he follows these sections with a list of web-related and book resources. This series is a great resource for individuals and churches. I highly recommend these books for new believers or young believers (teens, especially). Driscoll really presents these subjects in a very readable and easy to understand format without sacrificing solid biblical content. For those familiar with Driscoll, he also avoids some of the more controversial styles or content that he has been known for in the past. Instead he lets the content of Truth remain the sole area of controversy. These are great books to give away and/or stock in your library and costing around $10 retail they are affordable, too. - Pastor Todd Burgett, www.ChristianBookPreviews.com Product ReviewsProduct Q&AOther Customers Also PurchasedFind Related Products
