When I was a little girl, I remember my dad reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe to me at night. He used a variety of voices and rather interesting sound effects to bring the story to life and transport me into the world of Narnia.
That is exactly what Focus on the Family has done in their true-to-the-book dramatizations of The Chronicles of Narnia. When my dad gave me the CD set for Christmas, I’ll admit what first caught my attention was that actor David Suchet plays the part of Aslan the Great Lion. Suchet also stars in the role of Hercule Poirot in a series of famous British mystery shows I like. The rest of the talented cast, combined with music and realistic sounds, make the stories intriguing, suspenseful, and believable.
As you may know, C.S. Lewis wrote the Chronicles as allegories of the Christian life and as explorations into spiritual truth. This is not overlooked in the CDs, which makes each of the stories both fun and entertaining for young listeners and a bit deeper and thought-provoking for maturing hearts and minds. It was a great investment and very entertaining for the whole family. I would highly recommend it for car trips and vacations, however once you begin a book its hard to stop until its completion.

This production is not only a great treat for the family, but is also for anyone searching for quality entertainment that will engage the thought and imagination (an alternative to the cinematic/tv medium).
As to the excellent cast, audio effects and recording, one would be hard-pressed to raise any criticism.
This (accurate) interpretation of Lewis's beloved classic would undoubtedly be a favorite for all who would invest on it.

This is an incredible audio drama series, bringing C.S. Lewis' classics to life in a powerful way! I listened to the entire series on a road trip from California to Oklahoma and enjoyed every minute of it!

I am already listening to the third book of the set and love the theatre reading style! The Narnia series is entertaining and has many different layers of meaning. I listen to many books on CD and this more realistic style really brings the story to life.

I am very satisfied with this audio version of the Chronicles of Narnia. This is an excellent value of 19 CDs . It is great listening, many wonderful hours of enjoyment. A sincere thank you to "Focus on the Family" for making this production.

This is excellent - very high quality retelling of wonderful stories. I am a customer from the UK and the value for money is outstanding. This product cost about 3 times as much at home.

Wonderful! I love spending time in Narnia! I highly recommend this to families - it would be great for a road trip! CS Lewis was a terrific author and his stories are great.

My family cannot wait to get into the car to hear what will happen next in Narnia! The sound effects and voice actors really make you feel as if you are there with them sharing their adventures. I am even considering buying another set to donate to our public library. I know what my brothers and sisters will be getting for Christmas! :o)
