Great Christmas novella
Christmas Roses by Amanda Cabot, A Review
Widowed Celia Anderson runs a boarding house to support herself and her infant daughter. She doubts sheâÂÂll ever marry again, but life in Wyoming Territory in 1882 proves difficult even for the hardy. Two of the men who eat at her table each day think sheâÂÂd make a fine wife, but they donâÂÂt offer her love. Should she consent to provide a father for baby Emma?
Mark Williams, a roving carpenter, comes to town seeking his absentee father whom he hasnâÂÂt seen since he was very young. He takes a room at CeliaâÂÂs and begins helping out in small ways, making her life a bit easier. Their friendship grows, but Mark doesnâÂÂt plan to settle there. What does the future hold? Can Mark forgive his father for deserting them? Can CeliaâÂÂs heart heal from the death of her husband? Will the two find true love?
A sweet story perfect for this time of year. It would appeal to those who enjoy Westerns, romance, suspense, and realistic drama. Interesting twists add richness. DonâÂÂt miss the miracle of Christmas Roses.

A heartwarming story for any season!
Christmas Roses by Amanda Cabot is the loveliest story I've read in a very long time. Even though it's a Christmas novella, it's just a plain good book to read any time of the year. I read it in January and it was just the cure I needed for those post-holiday blues. I was amazed at how beautifully this story developed in just 169 pages. The characters were endearing, the story compelling, and the historical setting was well researched. I loved everything about it!
