Preacher Glenn Hill from North Carolina has given a good introduction to what Scripture says about WHEN Jesus and the Apostles were expecting Jesus' Second Appearance should take place. He points to other resources for further study. There is a Prophecy Reformation going on in our country and Preacher Glenn Hill's book with the endorsement of leading pastors and teachers is a good representative of this Reformation .

I grew up Southern Baptist. Now in my fifties and since the fall of 2008, I have held to the Full Preterist viewpoint of Biblical Eschatology --- the last days of Old Covenant Israel. Jesus' Second Appearance was as our High Priest of our Salvation -- completing the atonement process as promised in Deuteronomy 32:43 / Isaiah 27:9 / Hebrews 8:13; 9:8 and following. I love the study of all aspects of Full Preterism --- I have a folder of scriptures typed out under more than a few headings.

I was looking for some info help my understanding of prophecy. Though I came to a better understanding of Preterism, this book did nothing more than prove this view is most likely in error. It seems to strips old testament prophecies like Psalm 97:5, Isaiah chapters 11, 23, 24, 26(the inhabitants of the earth), 34, as well as ch. 62:11-12. Jeremiah ch 25, "all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth:... all the inhabitants of the earth...(Hebrew word "erets", same word in Gen. 1:1). They throw out Ezekiel chapters 36-48. I don't believe Isaiah 11:9 and Habakkuk 2:14 have come to pass. Matt 10:23 - "But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till (Greek ‘heos an elthe' ‘an' is untranslated and conditional.) the Son of man be come." Compare with Rom. 1:8, Col. 1:6, 23. It seems to me something does not fit.

Matt. 16:28-17:5 - These verses need to be compared with 2Pet.1:16-18. "coming" (Parousia). This is a good book for understanding the preterist view. It is an easy read and does not use complex theological terms. I do have an issue with the Mr. Hill's writings that either the Lord came or He is a false prophet (page 33 and other places). That kind of writing gives the unlearned one of two choices, believe Mr. Hill or call the Lord a liar. Also, The use of "The Emphatic Diaglott" is, in my opinion, the Jehovah's Witnesses choice but not my choice. Additionally, I don't believe Mr. Hill's use of Flavius Josephus' writings are NOT WORTHY because if Flavius Josephus was a real person and a ‘Jewish historian', not a God hating Christ rejecting Satanically inspired writer, Deut. 7:9-10, 32:39-42; Pro. 8:36; Luke 10:16; John 3:18, 36, 8:42, 12:25, 48, 15:23, why wasn't he killed in 70 A.D. (II Thess. 1:7-10)? What is a biblical generation? Do the math in Matt. chapter 1 and Luke chapter 3. They don't add up to 40 years period! Many O.T. prophecies have not been fulfilled and are too numerous to list not to mention the gospels of Galatians 1:6-9 cf 1 Cor. 1-4 and Revelation 14:6-7 "Fear God, and give glory to him...". On and on I could go. If you would like to know the MIND-SET of Preterism, this is the book. The comments above are opinions. Do your own research.
