Great book! There's so much information to take in, but the book was very simple to read and understand. I love that it is biblically sound, informative and well organized. Mr. Hanegraaff took what D.R. McConnell did in A Different Gospel and modernized it with more contemporary WOF "teachers." I didn't think that there would be a book as well written as A Different Gospel, but it is in the same league (which is no surprise, Hank Hanegraaff is a wonderful author in his own right). I love that the truth is evident and very carefully noted. While Mr. Hanegraaff may not be popular with WOF apologist, I truly believe his book was written with 1 Peter 3:15 in mind and pray that many will come out of the WOF cult that is running wild in this current age. I absolutely love this book and would not hesitate to recommend it!
I had had a previous edition of this book; recently I had left a Word Faith church, because of the doctrinal beliefs that I could no longer listen to. I bought this book and it helped me confirm my decision to leave those beliefs far behind, and to 'detox' and find my way back to biblical faith and the 'basics'..Hank not only details these false beliefs but he presents you with the basics, to re-orient oneself in right beliefs!
This is an excellent, well-documented book which clearly exposes the heretical teachings of prominent Word of Faith prosperity preachers. The author demonstrates how these preachers twist scripture, and he constantly uses scripture to point out the errors in their teaching. The book is easy to read and understand. However, I think it is too long. There are too many examples with the same basic message. After a while this becomes tiring. This book could be edited so that it is about half the current length. However, I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who is not familiar with the unscriptural teachings of these popular and influential preachers.
A great read. I summarized it sufficiently to give to my SS class and included all the Faith teachers and many of their pseudo theology statements. It is difficult to believe that so many millions of people are swayed by the false interpretations these "educated" men and women are promoting. It should be on the pulpit of our fundamental Bible preaching ministers in this world.
