We have been enjoying using this series, supplementing our science and nature studies by reading from them two times a week. The Nature Readers are meaty, interesting, and tailored to the child's reading level. They are also refreshing in that they give the glory of creation back to its Creator.I only wish that they were arranged slightly differently -- with the appropriate questions at the end of a day's worth of reading, instead of at the end of the particular section. I have to plan out in advance which questions are appropriate to ask for the day's assignment, since we are not using it as a read-aloud, but as an actual reader. The books also assume that the reader is in a temperate climate, calling different species of birds and animals "common," when they are completely uncommon to our desert surroundings. So, we have had to adapt the text, the suggestions for activities, and questions from time to time.Still, it is a very worthwhile series, and I recommend it.
