The land of Aedyn is a paradise beyond all imagining. But when this paradise falls, strangers from another world must be called to fight for the truth. Peter and Julia never suspected that a trip to their grandparents home in Oxford would contain anything out of the ordinary. But that was before Julia stumbled upon a mysterious garden that shone on moonless nights. It was no accident that she fell into the pool, pulling her brother along with her, but now theyre lost in a strange new world and they dont know whom they can trust. Should they believe the mysterious, hooded lords? The ancient monk who appears only when least expected? Or the silent slaves who have a dark secret of their own? In a world inhabited by strange beasts and magical whisperings, two children called from another world will have to discover who they truly are, fighting desperate battles within themselves before they can lead the great revolution.
Kathy FitzhughVinton, LAAge: 55-65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5What a fascinating read!February 5, 2011Kathy FitzhughVinton, LAAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4I downloaded this eBook because of the author, whose other works I had read in theology classes in seminary. To be honest, after the first few pages I thought McGrath had done nothing more than a rewrite of Narnia. However, as the story unfolded it ventured into fascinating new territory. I enjoyed it. I thought the parallels to Scripture were well-written and fit nicely into the story. I did notice that there were a number of typos. I don't know if eBooks have a different editing process, but many of the typos/mistakes should have been caught by a software editing program first, and a person second. Other than that, great book.
