Product Description

In his ten-year ministry, he had put off studying the topic of baptism. Then the Baptist pastor felt his heart sink as he began to see how Scripture challenged his long-held beliefs. What would prompt him to change his views- and find great encouragement in the doctrine of infant baptism? Are there good biblical reasons to baptize the children of believers? What does the Bible say about your children? Robert R. Booth answers these questions by carefully unveiling the covenant promises of God to Christian parents and their households. Robert R. Booth received a Bachelor of Science in history from East Texas State University and is currently a graduate student at the Southern California Center for Christian Studies, where he also serves as program coordinator. Formerly a Baptist pastor for ten years, he now is pastor of Grace Covenant Church, and evangelical and presbyterian church.

Editorial Reviews

A gracious and compelling presentation. . . . careful . . . readable . . . pastoral.
The most convincing arguments of any I have read in a book intended for laymen. . . . I give this title high marks.
Excellent. . . . the most helpful discussion I have seen for the general reader. . . . Because of his own theologicwl transformation [Booth] writes in a way that will be particularly insightful and helpful to others.
Randy’s writing is cogent, irenic, and proceeds from the basic issues. Such a book will be a great benefit to the church of Christ.
Especially strong in the clarity of its peresentation, the inclusion of sample dialogues to make the book more personal, and the concern for love . . . [Booth] is clearly friendly to those with whom he disagrees, but not at the expense of truth

As someone that has always followed believer's Baptism infant Baptism was a strange doctrine that was carried over from the Roman Catholic church. In other words, the Reformers didn't "purify" themselves from this wrong practice. I have to say that I never searched the scriptures to see what they say about Baptism and if you have also never done so, then I strongly recommend that you read this book. It has prompted me to take a fresh look at this important subject, and I intend to do more study in regards to it.
