Reading this autobiography is like sitting down with the great preacher and having him relate story after story from his life. Chapters by Mrs. Spurgeon give added insight into the depth of Sprugeon's love for the Lord and His people. As can be expected, the Preacher must include spiritual exhortations that stimulate the reader to live with God on a higher plane.

The two-volume Autobiography of C.H. Spurgeon is an excellent source not only to see into the life and times of an English Baptist Preacher from the 1800's, but the books can also be excellent references into the theology, and theologians he spoke of, by using the appendix in the back. Great pictures included!
