Not what I wanted. It isn't even Celtic I threw them away.Forget about being hymns;most aren't hymns.Overall I would never buy them again or suggest them to a friend.

Celtic hymns deserve much better treatment than given on this CD. The selection wasn't bad but the vocal reduced hymns of great beauty, depth and meaning to the level of cheap pop sing-song.

Nice selection of songs done mostly in traditional celtic style. Most songs include vocals which I was not sure when I purchased the album. But they are done well. I give it an 8/10. for the price & selection I am very happy.

I love Celtic music, but I was especially disappointed, in fact very, very disappointed in "Celtic Hymns". Not only did it not sound Celtic,I really couldn't call it music. A lot of the hymns were unrecognizable as hymns.

Compared to other Celtic Hymn cd's we have, this one is just a little too mellow. We do still enjoy it though !

Unfortunately, it seems that no one in Nashville knows what real Celtic music sounds like. The production of this CD collection is so disappointing: American singers (country singers in disguise from the sound of it), typical hymn harmonies rather than modal Celtic-sounding harmonies, synthesized flute sounds from a keyboard instead of a real flute or whistle player, congas instead of bodhran (Irish drum), I could go on. My theory: someone in Nashville decided to make money off the word "Celtic" in the title of a CD, and didn't want to cut into profits by getting real Celtic artists to perform it. To the couple of talented guitarists and fiddlers on the CD, my apologies.

Very easy listening with clear vocals. Arranged and recorded out of Nashville, some songs have more Country flavor than Celtic. But a CD collection certainly worth having.
