I LOVE THIS CD. I had this same version in tape form for my 1st child born in 1995. It was the only thing that worked on getting her to sleep (she was not a sleeper). I just had 2 more children, and the tape was getting warped from so much use. I was so excited when I found they had a CD of the exact same recording! This works just as good on my newborn and toddler today as it did 13 years ago. I would recomend it to everyone that has a child.
Our church used this CD several years ago for our Christmas play. It was based on the idea that God could have chosen anywhere in the world to have had Jesus' birth, but regardless of the race into which He would have been born, His mother would have sung lullabies to Him. The children sang these lullabies from around the world, dressed in costume, as well as telling a little something about Christmas in that country. At the end of the play, the children's mothers came to the stage to sit with their children during the closing song--Evening Hymn. It remains my favorite Christmas play of all time!
I agree with the other review. My 8 year old still enjoys listening to these lullabies. We owned the cassette and wore it out. Our daughter was distressed to see that it was unfixable when the tape had broken. I was thrilled to find this in CD format, although it has taken 4 years to locate this. I popped in the CD and it is still well-loved and cherished. She would always request "the ponies song" which I had to sing to her many times without the benefit of the tape. We are both grateful to own these and I am amazed that she still remembers the tunes. Thanks CBD, I thought that this had been discontinued! Whew...what a relief!!
