kltkmcl5 Stars Out Of 5Great BookSeptember 7, 2014kltkmclQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Believable characters that you root for; unexpected plot twists; mystery that makes you want to rush through reading...
There were several secondary characters who were compelling enough to warrant their own stories. (ie. Allison and Sheryl's stories) I would love to get answers to some of the questions not answered in this book... (why Calley's mother was so hateful, for example)
I thought the handling of Calley's issues with God were middle of the road as far as too much vs. too little. Since her experience included extremes from family members who were the worst kind of Christian hypocrites to Christians who actually showed true Christian love, I thought it made the story much more realistic.
I couldn't wait to look for more books with these characters. Since I could find only one other story (which was mentioned in this book, so I knew it existed), I was disappointed. I really hope this author intends to give these other characters their own stories.

I had a hard time putting it down while reading it.
Jo Huddleston5 Stars Out Of 5Great romantic suspenseSeptember 15, 2012Jo HuddlestonQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This inspirational romantic suspense lives up to its name. Calley is the "black sheep" of the family while her sister is "perfect," according to their mother. Calley has a romance with Peter, who fails to tell Calley he is married. After she learns she is pregnant, her life begins to spin. Riley and his aunt make Calley feel loved and protected, a first in her life. When Calley's independent nature clashes with the quiet Riley, sparks begin to fly. Can they each help the other to a compromise? Kathryn Bain writes a great story with memorable characters.
Voracious ReaderNHAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Very well done!!!August 16, 2012Voracious ReaderNHAge: 45-54Gender: femaleLOL I love it!!! From beginning to end, this story is full of wonderful moments that will make you laugh, or smile, or cry. Ms. Bain certainly knows how to wring the emotion out of her characters and make you love or hate them!
Callie is a sweetheart and you'll just want to wrap your arms around her and help her through everything she's dealing with. You can't help but want to protect her from some of the people around her from both the past and present.
And Riley, well, he's a lot more than the strong silent type. Although he's that, too. But Callie certainly brings out the best in him!
I loved the twists and turns in the story - really threw me a couple of curves. Well done!
