“Beth Vogt has once again captured my complete attention. With a slightly different feel to her debut, Wish You Were Here, Vogt's latest, Catch a Falling Star, is rich with true-to-life characters who sitdown beside you and invite you into their lives. The story unfolds with humor, tenderness, and a few poignant moments that will have you savoring eachwell-written word. Vogt points the way toward grace, healing, and hope withoutpreaching, but presents an honest portrayal of real lived-out faith and how itcan impact lives. Another wonderful offering by this very talented author!”
“Catch a Falling Star is one of those books you keep thinking about after The End. Poignant characters, crackling dialogue, and a central theme we can all connect with: What happens when things don't go according to plan? Beth K. Vogt writes from the heart with such an engaging voice . . . and she definitely has a permanent place on my must-read shelf!”
"Beth K. Vogt has accomplished what all debut authors aspire to do—write a great second book. Catch a Falling Star is fun, quirky, and filled with Vogt's well-crafted prose and signature voice. What a great thing—to discover a new author for my favorites list."
“This is one of those kind of books: the kind you open thinking you’ll just read a chapter or two and then, before you know it, you’re turning the last page with a smile and sigh. I don’t know how she does it, but Beth’s characters seem to live and breathe. I closed the cover after reading the last page and found myself a little bit sad, wondering where all my new friends had gone.”
“After reading Beth Vogt’s debut novel, Wish You Were Here, I knew her books would have a permanent place on my bookshelf. Catch a Falling Star is laced with Beth’s signature humor, well-developed characters, and spiritual truth, but her writing maturity shines. Her stellar ability to craft soul-stirring happily-ever-after romances leaves me craving more of her books. She does what every author desires—keeping readers turning pages way past their bedtimes.”
“Catch a Falling Star, Beth Vogt’s sophomore novel, delights with an intriguing cast of characters, a page-turning plot, unexpected twists, and sharp writing. I loved this tender story framed in second chances and heartfelt dreams that proves fairy tale lives come in all shapes and sizes.”
"I couldn’t put the novel down. Could. Not. . . . Beth Vogt has hit her sweet spot. Talk about a great story! . . . Snappy, quick and perfect for every single moment. . . . Themes are clearly evident and excellently woven through the story. Descriptions take you right into the heart of the story while not distracting anything from it. I have a feeling THIS is the voice people are going to love discovering on book shelves."
“Beth Vogt is a rising romance star with this amazing second novel. Delightful, sparkling romance and a story that is sure to keep you up all night. Bravo!”
"Catch a Falling Star by Beth K. Vogt is a story for every woman who has ever wondered if her “prince” will arrive. This novel is so much more than just a romance. It’s a story about learning to be happy and to rely on God even when life doesn’t go according to our plans. . . . Vogt has a way of conveying deep and poignant truths in a light and easy way to digest. . . . I definitely recommend Catch a Falling Star to romance fans looking for more than just another happily-ever-after. The ending won’t disappoint, but the journey there is filled with valuable lessons. The sweet tale serves to help the medicine go down easier. Through the characters, readers learn the importance of being content wherever they are in life and understanding God’s plans are higher than ours. It’s a book you won’t be able to put down!"

Not only am I still humming the song by the same name, I keep revisiting the characters in my head. Beth Vogt creates characters that keep you interested even after you've read the last page. I've gone back and read some of my favorite scenes again, just because I enjoyed how the plot thickened and the story hummed along with twists and surprises.

Catch a Falling Star came as precious as a jewel ― its romance and lessons dazzling, and the adventure nothing but a pure delight to discover. Once again, Beth Vogt delivers a story sure to hold you in its grip. This author's voice is the kind in which a reader basks, it is elegant, down to earth and sprinkled with a good doze of wisdom and fun. Her latest offering is not only a good read, it's a page-flipping good read, with drama at almost every corner you turn― just enough to keep me on the edge of my seat but not enough to make me feel overwhelmed. Well, except when the drama involved that heathen fellow... uh.. Heath! His name is Heath Parker and he is a doctor - apparently- in the novel. Very dislikable fellow. I'll let you readers have the 'pleasure' of meeting him, but in the meantime, excuse me while I rave the wonders of the main characters and of their love story.
Kendall and Griffin.
Oh my word, what a golden couple!! I was a goner when it came to their romance. A tender relationship marked by rich moments, tender and sassy ones. They are both are as stubborn as the day is long, but with deep and vulnerable spots. Should there be an award for best couples in Christian Fiction 2013, I'd readily nominate this couple. The last scene in the novel is a top-notch winner in my opinion, as it almost sent me to the floor, swooning. I'll read it again! I added half a star to my rating of the book because of it. The characters shine like stars. (Pun intended.)
In the end, Vogt produces a smooth landing to the ride and a satisfying ending for both reader and character. This isn't the kind of story where unreasonable and fairy-like things come about, but where the author seeks to explore what God means when He says there shall be beauty for ashes. Where imperfect people come together admitting their defeats and failures and where the God of hope works it all for the good of His Children. If I were to point out just two things that hindered me from giving this 5 stars, it'd be firstly that the romantic in me would have preferred having more - much more!- romantic scenes between Kendall and Griffin. And secondly, I found that the author could have delved into the heart of the story more. There's a wonderful message at the center of the story and I wouldn't have minded reading a lengthier novel if it meant a deeper exploration of the lessons and values in it.
Keep them coming, Beth Vogt!

Catch a Falling Star tells the story of Dr. Kendall Hayes, who has reached the age of 36 and realizes that her marital dreams may not come true. So when she’s out celebrating her birthday with her girlfriends, she’s not expecting anything to come of a chance meeting in the restaurant, as she responds to a medical crisis. Griffin Walker’s life was just as he wanted it, until the solitary Air Force pilot was grounded by a medical problem. The sudden death of his parents makes him guardian of a 16 year old brother he barely knows, a situation that frustrates him as he feels totally unsuited to be a parent and can’t wait until he’s able to fly again. When Ian has a serious allergic reaction to food in a restaurant, Kendall enters their lives and proves to be another complication that Griffin feels he must fight.
I found this story to be populated by believable and likeable characters, facing realistic situations with honest emotions. Their lives demonstrate grace and healing as they live out their faith with humor and growing hope.
Catch a Falling Star is a well written and entertaining story that you won’t want to skip. I’ll be watching for other books by this author!
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my fair and honest review.

This book by Beth K. Vogt was such a page turner. I (a self-proclaimed slow reader) read this book inside of 24 hours because I couldn't put it down.
I love how realistic the characters are in the book. I laughed, cried and yelled along with them as I read. I felt such an emotional connection with Evie and Kendall that I was surprised at some of my reactions in the book.
If you are on the fence about reading this book, I'll tell you right now, you WON'T be disappointed! It's a wonderful journey! I have already recommended this book to many friends and they have loved it too!
