James N Davis1 Stars Out Of 5January 13, 2010James N DavisOverall, a smooth, easy read and doable in an hour. At times written from the first person; thus, insightful and helpful. Much of the information is basic in understanding evangelism; thus, helpful for a new believer. However, the title, "Case Studies in Evangelism" is somewhat misleading; thus, my disappointment with this book. I was fully anticipating that I'd be reading some social/scientific case studies; ie. analysis of different methodologies played out in real life. Dr. Brown provided, what seems to me, a summary report after a personal visit with someone in a nursing home or jail. Maybe just nomenclature, but on page 3, Dr. Brown uses the term, "created", when speaking about Jesus. The biblical record says nothing of Jesus being created; rather, He exists from eternity to eternity (John 1:1). Giving Dr. Brown the benefit of the doubt, she probably was trying to communicate the idea a "sacrifical lamb". However, wasn't the Son of God the "lamb that was slain before the foundation of world"? He didn't have to be "created" to do this; He was sent and He came as the sacrifical lamb that already was.
