The final installment of the fabulous Brides of Bonneterre series concludes with A Case for Love.
I'll be honest...I was a little nervous heading into this last book simply because this book carried more of a male perspective than the previous two books. But hey, it didn't take long to put those nervous flutters to bed with such a dashing male hero! Forbes Guidry was painted quite well as the epitome of success in his law career, but has just one thing missing from his life...a woman.
Alaine took a little while to grow on me. At first, she seemed a little uppity with her tv program that she was bored with, along with her dismissal of Forbes' company. The latter soon became understandable, but there was absolutely nothing that would keep these two apart! Slowly but surely, their self-built walls started to crumble, and the fight was on to save a budding relationship amidst a nasty lawsuit.
This book had everything that I love--Southern charm, at least one character with sass, and the perfect dose of romance. I absolutely cannot wait to dive into some of Kaye's historical fiction next, even though I'm confident of one thing...she's a master at contemporary romance!

Alaine Delacroix is a society reporter for the city of Bonneterre, Louisiana and she is on the hunt for a husband and a promotion at the news station. She is up against the biggest corporation in town to save her family's business, and Forbes Guidry is just the lawyer to help her. Forbes is committed to helping the small businesses in Bonneterre, even though it means going against his parent's company. Will Alaine be able to overlook Forbes conflict of interest and fall in love with him? Or will the very thought of who he is and what he represents keep her from listening to her heart?
The last book in the Brides of Bonneterre Series, it was a charming and enjoyable story. The characters were known to me from the previous two books, and it was well worth the read. The law and business elements were intriguing, and the story is very believable and tender as romance stories go. While realistically I wasn't sure that people in Forbes and Alaine's situation would have fallen in love, stranger things have happened in real life. So in the end, it is a recommended read if you like a good romance to pass the time away.

It was better
This book was better than the previous two in this series. It started out being good and then toward the end it started getting cheesy. I only bought the series because the prices were marked way down.

The whole series is a keeper
I've read this series....twice. I usually donate the many books I read to my church library and I was about to do the same with this series but could not. I felt I was giving away part of my family. This may sound unusual, nay...more like crazy, but that's the truth. I'll wait a few months & read these books again, then maybe I'll be able to let them go. Excellent read!
