Beloved author and life-long gardener Louise Riotte passed away in 1998 at the age of 89. During her life, she wrote twelve books on gardening, companion planting, and garden lore, among them the ever-popular Carrots Love Tomatoes. Her father taught her how to practice astrology, while her mother was an herbalist. Together they greatly influenced her life and her books, including Roses Love Garlic, Astrological Gardening, Sleeping with a Sunflower, Catfish Ponds & Lily Pads, and Raising Animals by the Moon. Riotte was an artist as well as a writer, and her own drawings appear in all of her books. She took great pride in her garden near her home in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Carrots Love Tomatoes, by Louise Riotte a guide to companion planting that has become legendary in gardening circles ever since the first edition was printed in 1975-Spokesman-Review
AJ Bolduc5 Stars Out Of 5Plant your garden the right way!December 26, 2014AJ BolducQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I'm new to gardening and needed all the tips and advice I could get to plant a flourishing garden. This book really helped me plan where everything would go in order for the veggies to grow bigger, be more flavorful and to use herbs to detract insects and pests from invading. It made my first garden a positive experience! I've bought 3 more copies for my friends.
