John Calvin's Institutes of the Christian Religion has been one of the most important works in Christian theology for nearly five hundred years. Now, for the first time, the much-esteemed Ford Lewis Battles translation is available in a convenient CD-ROM format. Built with Adobe PDF technology, the CD-ROM is compatible with both Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
An institutional copy and academic license is also available for this product. Please contact Gavin Stephens at 502-569-5713 for more information.
Long recognized for the quality of its translations, introductions, explanatory notes, and indexes, the Library of Christian Classics provides scholars and students with modern English translations of some of the most significant Christian theological texts in history. Through these works--each written prior to the end of the sixteenth century--contemporary readers are able to engage the ideas that have shaped Christian theology and the church through the centuries.

McNeill's Institutes. The CD was less than half the price of the books and the content is exactly the same (down to the page numbers.) The disk is easy to navigate (much faster than flipping around.) You can zoom in and out, search, and so on.

Pretty soon "other" organizations will buy up everything and you will have to go through "them" and there software just to look up a simple quote from men such as Machen or other Reformed great. Now if someone would only publish The ESV in pdf (that we could buy) with no notes and no red letters. That would be nothing short of heaven.

Q: CD-Rom of Calvin's Institutes-is it an audio CD-Rom? CBD Stock No: WW231705 I don't have time to read Calvin's "Institutes", but would love to listen to it in my car. Also, it says it is Microsoft Windows Vista and/or XP format. Will it work with Windows 7 and Windows 8? If there is a voice, who is the narrator?
This is not an audio CD, but a CD-ROM with text. The CD-ROM is compatible with both Windows 7 and 8, if Adobe Reader is updated.
The only audio version we have of Calvin's writings is WW446083 "Calvin: Of Prayer and the Christian Life: Selected Writings from the Institutes - Unabridged Audiobook on CD".
Q: Could the CD-ROM work normally under Windows 2007?
Yes, this is compatible with Windows 7 if Adobe Reader is updated.
