C2: Love at First Sight, DVD

According to executive producer Michael W. Smith, movies can teach us in many ways. Through this original film, he encourages you to think critically about themes that arise in the movie. In this humorous 23 minute film, two teenage clerks discuss their views on the latest blockbuster film, Love at First Sight. Dane tries to promote "the greatest love story of all time", a French film from the 60s called Labour of Love, while the other clerk Jessica challenges him that all of the copies of Love at First Sight will be gone before his one copy of the French saga. The wager ensues, with exciting results at the end of the film. This DVD includes an introduction from Smith, a 23 minute short film, leader's notes; study guide; and movie extras.

Two teenage video store clerks, Dane and Jessica, argue about the possibility of love at first sight when the year’s biggest romantic drama entitled Love at First Sight is released. Dane claims that the very idea of falling in love at first sight is preposterous. He has a much better romantic drama depicting true love to promote to all who will listen. Jessica is totally swept away by the idea of falling in love at first sight. Their argument results in a wager. Little do they know their bet will have life-changing results for one of them.

This small group study will provide discussion points related to true love, judging others, and accepting differing opinions. The viewers will be encouraged to think critically about the various topics addressed in the original short film.

The small group leader will be provided with the tools to promote discussion and to implement spiritual truths from God’s Word to give answers to questions that may arise from the discussion.

I thought the movie was very enjoyable. It's funny with a good study included for deeper discussion and Bible study on what true love is. My adult Bible study group enjoyed it, but it would be great for young viewers too.

I think the idea of C2 is great!!! Although the film wasn't "out of this world," I really enjoyed it. The story was simple and short enough to be understood, but yet deep enough to create discussion. I encourage others to check it out because there is a lot to learn!!!!!
