Busy Teacher's Guide: Art Lessons, Primary 4 5 1 1

Simple Art lessons, but needs color pictures This is a very well organized art book. I have read the whole book front to back. Everything is easy for both kid and parent to understand, not much reading/planning required to get started, and materials are clearly listed for each project. I love that it has a "Connection" section to take any guess work out of it. It has great projects. I bought this book because I wanted to do more formal art lessons this year, which this book fulfills nicely. It has enough lessons for the whole year if you do art once a week. It has about 3 art project choices for each lesson so you get a lot of ideas/options. You could extend the art lesson out by doing all 3 projects if you wanted. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that this book would be perfect, if it had a color page of the artist/art they are discussing (in the short "Art history" section). It is extra work to look up and find the artist and the art. Call me lazy or whatever, but I have enough to do as a busy homeschool mom. I appreciate when books take all the work out of lesson planning. I found another great art book called "Art for Fun Projects" by Sue Lacey that actually has colored pages with the art being discussed already in the book. No extra work required. Love that! I am going to be using both this year and next. Over all I am happy that I have this book as an art recourse. I feel like I got my money's worth. Good value. July 14, 2012
