Author Wes Yoder's words are humorous, yet beyond the sports and weather chatter and silence that characterize many male conversations there is brokenness. Emptiness. Shame. That's not funny.
For Yoder, the cure is not about planting the flag for one's manhood by going out hunting or by joining another men's movement. Rather, Yoder calls disappointed, disenchanted and lonely men to authenticity. Here, he issues a compelling invitation to men to begin a new way of living. When men engage in spiritual friendship and honest conversation, they begin to find joy, healing and their true identity.

He stressed the need for Men to begin to connect with other men in other to address issues affecting their innermost beings.
Issues such as how to resist temptations of pornography or how to cripple marital infidelity;how to deal with temperaments as a result of nagging partners; even how to deal with the daunting prospects of giving away our daughters in marriage to another brother[it is only a man that can know what another man is capable of doing].
In effect, Wes stressed on the need for Men to imitate Jesus Christ who deliberately chose to be vulnerable at the hands of his closest male friends.Certainly, majority of men feel threatened, insecure, and out of sorts when in the company of other men. Understandably a grey area, but this is an invaluable goldmine to receive deep inner-healing, and power with God and men abounds in doing so.
